Fundserv Drives Strategic Vision Forward with New Chief Relationship Officer and Chief Information Officer Appointments
Fundserv is pleased to announce the appointments of Genevieve Groat to the role of Chief Relationship Officer and Wayne Hong to the role of Chief Information Officer. These appointments are a critical step in the strategic vision laid out by President and CEO Karen Adams in the 2018 business plan, and round-out the new senior leadership team, which also included Robert Ebel being named as Chief Operations Officer and Julie Loyola as Chief People Officer late last year.

Both Genevieve and Wayne will be instrumental in helping lead the organization as we enhance our position as a cybersecurity leader, build on our core services and products, and further develop our talent in order to support our members and better connect the industry as a whole.”
Genevieve is a recognized leader in both client and employee engagement, responsible for developing innovative approaches to stakeholder relations and communications.
Genevieve most recently held the position of Executive Director of Client Operations for Alberta Pensions Services Corporation (APS) where she worked for more than 12 years. She oversaw a 96-person pension administration operations group, including leading an award-winning, multi-year, multi-system business and technology transformation project. Prior to her career at APS, Genevieve held various leadership positions with TELUS.
Genevieve has a Bachelor of Management from the University of Lethbridge, ITIL certification, and advanced certification in project and change management.
“I have a passion for motivating teams towards a common goal to deliver efficient, effective, and diverse solutions to the meet the needs of our members,” says Genevieve. “I look forward to investing in building strong, long-lasting relationships with our members as we execute the many exciting initiatives ahead.”
Wayne is a seasoned leader with 20 years of experience in the areas of strategic consulting, solution design and architecture, delivery execution, and operations management, with expertise in the fields of wealth management, banking, capital markets, insurance, and the public sector.
In his previous role as Vice President, Wealth Management Solutions for CGI, Wayne was responsible for a suite of products focused on portfolio management, fund accounting, transfer agency, plan administration, and securities processing.
Wayne has a Bachelor of Applied Science in Computer Engineering from the University of Toronto.
“With the growing need for secure, standardized technology, Fundserv is in a unique position within the Canadian financial services sector to support industry-driven solutions,” says Wayne. “I am excited to lead the team as we invest in the technology to support our members even better.”
These appointments also further align Fundserv leadership with its four strategic priorities – Technology, People, Controls, and Relationships. Under the new structure, each leader will be responsible for ensuring the investment in, and success of, key internal and industry-wide initiatives as part of our overall commitment to operational excellence.
Genevieve assumes her position effective January 22, 2018. Wayne joins the team on February 12, 2018.
