ESG Maintenance

GOAL: to improve processing efficiency, reduce network rejections, streamline industry data exchange, and promote automation

  1. Add and modify existing Change/Cancel ATON Order edit and clarify processing rules

  2. Add a new category to report FIR record type in AG file

  3. Add new error code to support "Invalid Business Number"

  4. Dormant/Inactive accounts processing

  5. New data standard and processing rules for switches between non-daily priced funds

  6. Allowable characters for Rep Code fields

  7. Add new custom content rule and error code to support "Invalid custom content"

Error Corrections

GOAL: expand error correction functionality and streamline the standards and guidelines

  1. Allow dealer-placed error corrections on intermediary accounts

  2. Change/add edits to enforce consistency when placing orders

  3. Populate dilution records in Settlement Instruction (AF) file

  4. Updates to technical paper and processing rules

Nominal Units

GOAL: to introduce processing rules to manage the following scenario:

  • A manufacturer forces a redemption when a fund position or account balance falls below a threshold

NFU

GOAL: to maintain and enhance the NFU data standards and business practices to promote further automation of non-financial transactions

  1. Change address section in AddModRep business process schema from Mandatory to Optional

  2. Enhance the AddModClientInfo business process schema to allow for multiple name code and name group elements

  3. Maintenance Items:

    1. Removal of Foreign Contact auto adjustment flag

    2. Addition of Target type L for ModBulkRep message originating from an Intermediary

    3. Allowable characters for Rep Code fields

    4. Addition of new edit to reject messages sent to intermediaries or manufacturers that are inactive for trading

    5. Update InaRep processing rules to be consistent with current functionality

  4. Helpfile changes in response to new IDA regulations released October 2006

    1. Add new processing rule to NFU request

    2. Modify NFU Response Account Confirm section

Note: With the implementation of ESG v17, the number of commission-only N$M dealers that have signed up is 153. The estimated number of cheques reduced is 27,295.
