By Marie Sawa Have you every wondered how many goals Gretzky scored in his career? Or what colour jersey the Soviet Union wore during the 1955 World Hockey Championships? Attendees at FundSERV’s annual Appreciation Event had a whole evening to find out. FundSERV recognized the contributions of committee and working group members at the Hockey Hall of Fame on October 5th. Version 18 marked a change in the standards development process. Concept documents and cost benefit analyses were required for all v18 ideas which meant a significant increase in workload for the groups. "The Appreciation Event gives FundSERV a chance to thank our committee and working group members for their high quality efforts," says Alan Hutton, CEO. In recognition of their hard work this cycle, most valuable player (MVP) awards were presented to the ESG members, many of whom spearheaded working groups. Attendees at the event were able to kick back and enjoy the hockey themed evening. Guests dined on cuisine from Russia, the Czech Republic, the US, and Canada while watching the Leafs destroy the Senators, 6-0, on the big screen. Some attendees tested their netminding skills against Gretzky and Messier, while others tried to score on Roy. The highlight of the evening was the scavenger hunt, which led party goers around the venue to find answers to a series of memorabilia-related questions. Blair Munn from IFDS, Christine Serra from CI Funds and Derek Altimas from MRS each took home a set of Leafs tickets in a draw of the scavenger hunt participants. Munn, Serra and Altimas can all tell you that Gretzky scored 802 goals and the Soviet Union wore teal when they won the 1955 World Hockey Championships, in case you were wondering. |
