Fundserv is a business to-business electronic network with world-class transactions processing applications, servicing the Canadian investment management industry.

Getting set up on the Fundserv network as a manufacturer takes place in four stages:

  1. Preparation
  2. Getting Started
  3. Connectivity
  4. Testing


1. Preparation

Code Registry
If you have not been assigned a code by the Code Registry, complete the Code Registry package. Fundserv issues codes to the registry on behalf of the industry, however codes assigned to the registry are not automatically Fundserv clients. Your first code is free of charge.

The Code Registry package can be submitted alone or in combination with the Getting Started package. Please include a copy of your registration with the appropriate regulatory body when submitting your Code Registry application.

If you require more than one code for your company, please submit the $150 fee, and a separate Code Registry application for each additional code.

Familiarize yourself with the one-time connection setup and monthly fees for manufacturers.

System Requirements
Decide if you will be enlisting the help of a service provider to assist you with the technical requirements of using the network.

2. Getting Started

Download and complete the Getting Started Package, print the completed application and sign all signature fields.

Mail the signed Getting Started package, along with proof of your registration with a regulatory body and a cheque in the amount of your setup fee to Fundserv at:

Fundserv must receive the following documents before proceeding to the next step:

  • Getting Started Package
    • Contract
    • Designation of customer codes – include all codes you intend to bring onto the network
    • Designation of third party (complete only if using a service provider)
    • LRA
    • Contacts
    • Selection of Services
    • N$M (All manufacturers must be full N$M participants)
  • A cheque in the amount of your setup fee

3. Connectivity

Once you have returned your Getting Started package and setup fee to Fundserv, our Technical Support team will begin to create your test environment.

The Getting Connected package will be provided by Customer Relations once the contract has been received. Once your information is received, it can take up to 48 hours to complete the setup of your test environment.

The following documents must be received by Fundserv before proceeding to testing:

  • Getting Connected Package
    • Fund Company Setup and Configuration Form
    • Request for TFS Server Certificate
  • myserv Registration Form

4. Testing

Once your test environment is set up, review the process to complete testing and go live in the production environment in the Getting Connected package.

You will be required to complete five days of successful testing for new codes and two days for each additional code. Testing requires completing the test script provided to you by Fundserv. Test scripts are to be used only as a guideline and you are not required to test transactions which do not apply to your type of business.

Once you have completed your testing, return your completed test script and sign-off letter to Technical Support.

Please note: New companies may only go live on Fridays at 4 p.m. ET. If you wish to go live on a specific Friday, you must successfully complete your testing no later than the Monday of that same week and inform us of your wish to go live no later than the Tuesday of the same week.
